Dennis Cotcamp Memorial ride, Thursday, July 7, 2005. The ride started at Kinetic Systems in Clarkston and then followed the Back-40 route, approx. 25 miles. About 2/3 of the way into the ride we all got drenched by a huge downpour of rain, I think it may have been the end of Hurricane "Dennis"???? Go figure! Green Mountain Stage Race 2005

Several Rhino's, Mark Wolowiec, Steve Kocik, Scott Claes, and David Linden ventured to Vermont for the annual Green Mountain Stage Race. 4 days of hard racing from pro to masters categories, up and over several gaps approaching 20%. This was one of Dennis' favorite races, it was his last race as a Rhino in 2004. In his memory of Dennis, I requested Steve's wife Christine, to make us a braided purple and yellow wrist band that we wore during the stage race. It was hard not to think of him as you labored up the climbs seeing the band dangle on your wrist. The picture of the 4 of us is taken at the top of Appalachian Gap, the highest point of the road race, some 20% grade. It may be hard to see but we are trying to show you the Rhino band. The second picture I used the 2005 Green Mountain T-shirt as a background with the wrist band and a photo taken in 2004 of Dennis at the top of Appalachian Gap, relaxed, coffee in hand. This is how I will remember him. The 3rd image is an enlargement of the previous one.
