| Weekly rides: These are standing rides that happen in the spring, summer and fall. Times and information will be updated periodically here, but if you aren't sure, see what is posted on the Yahoo Group or call Kinetic Systems Bicycles for questions. |
| Tuesday track workouts: During daylight savings time, the Flying Rhinos rent Waterford Hills Raceway. It is a 1.4 mile paved, road course used for car racing. The track usually opens about 5 pm and we ride until dark. Informal group riding occurs until 6:30 when a structured skills type workout starts. Riding straight, getting comfortable in a group and paceline are a few of the things that we practice. Every three weeks we do a 5 lap time trial before the skills training starts. After about an hour of skills training, we also do a few short races. The races are 3 to 5 laps and sometimes divided into A and B riders. After the races, we cool down and ride until dark. Every rider pays a nominal fee and you have to be a Rhino to participate. However, anyone can ride once for free to see if the track is something that interests them.

| Wednesday dirt road rides: We have two groups that start at Independence Elementary in Clarkston (6:30 pm). One is a social ride for those that just like to get out and ride. A typical first timer to this ride has never ridden in a group before and just wants to check it out. The pace varies and no one gets dropped. The other group is faster paced. This group is for those that think the social ride is too social and want to push it a little. Both rides are no drop rides (nobody gets left behind). |
| Thursday dirt road ride: This ride is geared towards getting ready for the cyclocross season. Mountain bike racers are welcome, but they may be disappointed in the spring when the pace isn't what they want it to be for the spring and summer mountain bike races. That doesn't mean however, that some mountain bikers can start their own race pace ride on Thursday. More info about this ride can be found on the Cyclocross Team page. |
| Saturday road ride: This ride is geared towards anyone that likes to ride on the road in a group. This ride may seem fast paced for a beginner, but it is a no drop ride (nobody gets left behind) and beginners are certainly welcome. It is a very good place to learn how to ride in a group, safely on public roads. This ride was the first ride for many club members. If you are a beginner, come on out and learn the ropes. Ask questions and have fun. After a couple of these rides, you'll be hooked. Road racers that do this ride understand that there are people on this ride that haven't raced before and need pointers on etiquette and other essentials to riding safely. This ride usually starts at 8:00 am at Depot Park in Clarkston. (map of the ride)
