Coaching / Training
The Flying Rhino Cycling Club and Kinetic Systems Bicycles offers a variety of coaching and training opportunities throughout the year. Here are some of the benefits of being an FRCC club member
Tuesdays at the Track - Every Tuesday during the riding season the club rents out the Waterford Hills Raceway at the Oakland County Sportsmans Club. The closed 1.4 mile paved course is used for weekly club training, including paceline work, sprints, hill climbs and more. A time trial is held every third week so you can monitor your progress throughout the season and compare your results against your teammates.

Beginning the first week of August, the focus of track night shifts to cyclocross-specific training. Those wishing to participate should bring your mountain or cross bike. However, road training will continue - there will still be two or three road groups, races, and time trials.
Track night costs $5 per week or $70 for the entire season, but is available to FRCC club members only.
Indoor Training - Starting in mid-December and running through the end of March, Kinetic Systems Bicycles holds indoor training sessions on Tuesday nights. Each session starts promptly at 7:00pm and normally lasts for an hour.
A typical session includes:
- warm-up and stretching
- strength work on the bike (lower back and abdominal)
- work on form
- some (very little) high intensity
- cool down and stretching
These sessions work on form, correct posture, how to relax on the bike and become more efficient. But you say you are looking to break a good sweat, just come to one session, we guarantee you will.
When you come remember to bring you bike (of course), your trainer (rollers are fine, but a fork stand is required), a towel or two, and water bottles.
Yoga - Again, during the off-season, Cyclocross Team Leader Anne Schwartz leads a weekly Yoga class immediately following Indoor Training.
Tai-Chi - Every Monday night at 6:00pm, Kinetic Systems Bicycles very own Jeff Noftz offers a Tai-Chi class at the Clarkston Methodist Church in Clarkston, MI.
